Join Alex Iantaffi and award-winning singer, percussionist, dancer, teacher, and author Alessandra Belloni on Wednesday October 14th at 6.30pm CT (4.30pm PST / 5.30pm MST/ 7.30pm EST) to talk about the sacred and healing dances of Southern Italy and the role i femminielli play in one of these traditions! As usual, we will also discuss how we might reclaim these practices as trans and queer people during this time.
To help Alex and fellow QT Owen Marciano raise funds, generate interest, and start building community to realize their collective dream of taking trans and queer Italians of the diaspora to Southern Italy, they are offering Queering Italian Magic (virtual) salons - community conversations and practices to remember and evolve sacred, spiritual traditions.
Please note that Owen is still tending to their wellbeing and not co-facilitating at the moment. Alex will continue to nurture the Queering Italian Magic vision with Owen’s consent and support. The salons are also no longer happening on a regular, monthly basis to better match current capacity.
This event will be recorded for registered participants who are unable to attend at this time or who cannot attend the whole event. The recording will be sent out within 5 days after the date of the event.
Sliding scale is offered for registration. If you still need another option, please let Alex know by emailing Riot at admin@alexiantaffi.com. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. Please note that the upper end of the sliding scale is high, not by error but by choice. Alex and Owen are opening up to the potentiality of abundance for this series as a fundraiser to support the pilgrimage to the Candelora in 2027 (sign up for Alex’s newsletter here to make sure you don’t miss the announcement for dates, details, and registration for this coming very soon!)
