Join Italian-American and Italian QTs Owen Marciano and Alex Iantaffi in their vision of facilitating and supporting a trans, gender expansive, and queer centered pilgrimage to the sanctuary of Montevergine to visit Mamma Schiavona in southern Italy next February, 2027 for the Candelora.
To help them raise funds, generate interest, and start building community to realize their collective dream, Alex is offering monthly Queering Italian Magic (virtual) salons - community conversations and practices to remember and evolve sacred, spiritual traditions - on the first Wednesday of the month at 6.30pm CST (4.30pm PST / 7.30pm EST).
The next event will be on February 4th at 6.30pm CST (4.30pm PST / 7.30pm EST) and will be focused on the Candelora, given the time of the year. Alex will share what they know about i femminielli and Mamma Schiavona, the Black Madonna of Montevergine, including their experiences when visiting Her. As well as gathering for conversation, you will be invited to weave a spell of protection for our communities during this time, if you so wish.
Please note that Owen is currently needing to tend to their own nervous system as the occupation in Minneapolis continues. Alex will continue to nurture the Queering Italian Magic vision with Owen’s consent and support.
Please note that this event will be recorded for registered participants who are unable to attend at this time or who cannot attend the whole event. The recording will be sent out within 5 days after the date of the event.
Sliding scale is offered for registration. If you still need another option, please let Alex know. Only pay what is sustainable for you. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
Please note that the upper end of the sliding scale is high, not by error but by choice. Alex and Owen are opening up to the potentiality of abundance for this series as a fundraiser to support the pilgrimage to the Candelora in 2027.
